  Sydney International Convention

  the sydney international convention is getting some press with claims of 60,000 foreign visitors.. the convention will be held in the olympic stadium and apparently there'll even be special trains.. would you like to join them?

  it seems they'll invite any old apostate; why, even i have been invited!

  i can't.. she is currently 'helping' someone in what i suspect is the same situation that the last (and only) person she has helped into the troof.. we love each other very much and i just have to learn how to keep my mouth shut.

  i was brought up by fanatical jw parents and dropped out at 15, had a fling with it before armageddon (1975), just in case, but during that time we married and she took to the jws like a duck to water.

  i dropped out.

  I was going to keep my mouth shut this afternoon, but she mumbled something about me wasting my time talking to 'those people' when I was actually using her WTCD & Kingdum Interlinear and the http://bible.crosswalk.com/InterlinearBible/ to do a bit of Bible Study.

  Guess I have to learn Self Control

  I had better make something quite clear. I will not be emotionally blackmailed into anything by JWs or their apostates. I had enough of that crap in/from the Borg.

  I asked my wife about Paul's goal/reward from today's WT, noting that he said it applies to all. 2 Tim 4:4-8. She said that Paul was writing to the congregations at that time. I pointed out that Paul didn't qualify 'all' in any way and that the way he said it, that it also applies to her. I said I would like to know how the Society turns 'all' into 'some'.

  She has not given me any more on that one and as far as I am aware has not had a look at her books to find out for me.

  I also pointed out that the quote from verse 8, "From this time on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me as a reward in that day, yet not only to me, but also to all those who have loved his manifestation", translates ho kurios as Lord but it is translated as Jehovah in verse 14, therefore Paul is talking about Jehovah's 'manifestation' which might be used by some Trinitarians to back up their Trinity.

  Maybe I shouldn't have thrown that one in.

  I should also point out to you all that I have a reputation for rubbishing all manner of Troofs, vegetarian/vegan diets, low fat diets, polyunsaturated oils, cholsterol & heart disease, the evils of tobacco, AIDS, SARS, West Nile Virus etc. and cast the bulk of the medical profession in the same class of shonky junk religion/science as the Borg, so people don't tend to take much heed of my views.

  due to those cassettes

  o yes-- the reading of the mags- well when i was at bethel there was a reading test given to all ms who wanted to sign up for the opportunity to be a audiocassette reader/ dramas

  BTW Abaddon, I haven't been to a meeting since 1976. Have been to the odd Memorial though.

  Keeping my mouth shut seems to me to be the best option, at least for the present. I have sown seeds of doubt and will have to wait to see what happens. If anyone is in a position to help my wife's sheep, it is herself. If I tried, I doubt I would succeed and would become the enemy in the process, which would be counter-productive.

  I also feel that if I try to be the Great J Dub Buster, I will be just the same as my zealot father, just playing for the other team. Not a nice thought.

  I still haven't found out why her best friend dissed herself. She has spoken to her, but won't tell me anything apart from that she is the happiest she has been in years. I am sure I will find out through the grapevine. I am sure it came as a shock, I just hope she dissed because she had found out the truth and has been honest about that with my wife.

I dropped out. JW regs were too much for me and I decided to enjoy the life I had left and to die at Armageddon. What a wanker.

  It has taken until now to realise how shonky it all was.

  I am sure I could handle it if we were the only ones involved, but now that she is sucking another, really nice, young, confused, kid into it........

  .......I just have to learn how to pull my head in.

  Does it really matter?

  This young, confused kid may find fulfillment also. Does it really matter who she finds that with?
